I would like to take this chance to share the Lotus Parable story with you.
I grew up in Iran where rave music and parties were strictly forbidden. Therefore, we used to find the most hidden locations to host our sessions. One of these events was back in 1999 at the Anzali Lagoon, attached to the Caspian Sea, and close to where I grew up. We invited everyone to this secret location. We separated our friends into a few different groups, taking them in a wooden boat to the middle of the lagoon, where we found a wooden cottage over the water, surrounded by bamboo and lotus flowers. Viewing our surroundings as the sun rose behind all the lotus flowers, the moment was so special and inspirational; it captured my imagination and gave me the idea to hold open-air events in the future.
I picked Lotus Paradise as a name from my own personal experience, knowing the famous sentence of Osho: This very earth is the Lotus Paradise, and Buddha: “As a lotus flower is born in water, grows in water and rises out of water to stand above it unsoiled, so I, born in the world, raised in the world, having overcome the world, live unsoiled by the world.” My dream became reality after I moved to Cyprus in 2005 and I joined the indie community there, collaborating with and joining their parties and gatherings. In 2009, with the support of several friends, “Lotus Paradise” organised the first open-air event, which more than 900 people enjoyed. Great artists from all over the world shared their music at the event, bringing together those who shared their love of indie culture and music. As time passed, and our experience grew, the concept of Lotus Paradise became more focused on the theme of “togetherness”. We now have a close family in Cyprus, which is continually growing. From initial events with only one stage, we now hold parties with two stages and an extensive lineup of well respected, talented international DJs. Our events are always held in prime locations, whether it is in a club or out in nature, such as a forest or by the sea. Parties are not just about the music, but about a way of thinking and living life. We also encourage people to present workshops and offer their handicrafts, which enhances our events and helps introduce people to art.
The most important achievements of our journey are those hearts that we touched and those life-changing experiences that we shared with you, and this is what keeps us going. We hope to be able to inspire and touch more hearts on our journey.
New Beginnings 2022
We have a few announcements to make, and the first one, which was a hard decision, is that we have picked a new name for our activities. We feel that our taste matured on this journey, and we will be presenting you with a deeper and more unique concept with our new beginning. We have many good memories with Lotus Paradise, and we wanted to preserve the connection with it, so our new name for both record label and events is: LOTUS PARABLE
Parable means a simple story used to illustrate a moral or spiritual lesson.
We have always believed and experienced that music and art have no boundaries: they bring everyone together. We would love you all to join us on this journey and be part of the new experience that we are going to share together.
